CELSO NETO

Welcome!

I am a philosopher of science and race, based at the Centre for the Study of the Life Sciences (Egenis), University of Exeter, UK.
My work examines the uses and abuses of scientific classifications, with a current focus on genetic classifications of human populations.

In this context, I lead HUGERA: an ERC-funded project that develops a framework for ethically responsible research in human genomics.

More broadly, I also work on issues concerning evolutionary explanation, the scope of natural selection, ambiguous concepts in science, and the concept of lineage.

You can reach me at C.Alves-Neto at exeter.ac.uk

Here is my CV.
